🧠Founder Direction · V1 · September 2026
This page explains what genuinely separates REMAP from an outsourcing agency or a direct hire —
the value layer that sits on top of simply supplying a person. Current direction; for how the
managed model runs day to day, see the linked SOPs.
An outsourcing agency hands you a person and walks away. REMAP hands you a person, tells them
what to do, works out where in your business they'll create the most impact, and keeps doing that
on a loop — so you never have to manage them or figure out where to point them.
When a business leader hires AI help the normal way, they're left holding two problems:
Most business leaders have neither the spare bandwidth nor the specialist knowledge to do both
well. They end up pulled into business-optimisation work they aren't equipped for, instead of
running their business.
💡 REMAP removes both at once. We tell the specialist what to do, and we identify where
they should be working for the greatest impact. The client stays focused on their business.
That dual removal — not just the person — is what justifies charging a premium over a cheaper
direct hire.
To be clear on who's in charge of what: the client isn't cut out of direction — the business
leader approves the AI strategy and can adjust the strategy and project focus at any time.
What they hand off is the daily management: the specialist is run day to day by a project
manager, supported by an AI architect. So the client sets and steers the direction; REMAP
drives the execution.
A direct hire looks cheaper on paper. Here's what that paper price leaves out:
| What's missing from a direct hire | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| A bench | Someone to slide in as a replacement if a long-term adjustment is needed — no multi-week gap |
| The expert package | Technical knowledge plus business-application knowledge — knowing where inside the business to apply it |
| A project manager | Actively running the engagement day to day, so the client doesn't |
| The catalogue | Proven opportunities, plus continual updates on technology and business-systems thinking |
All of that is the value layer sitting on top of simply supplying a person. A freelancer is a
person; REMAP is the person and everything that makes them effective.
"Fully managed" gets thrown around loosely, so here's the specific meaning at REMAP.
A standard agency typically handles hiring and onboarding — then stops. If something goes
wrong, backfill can take a couple of weeks.
"Fully managed" at REMAP is a continuous cycle, not a handoff:
💡 From the client's side it's set-and-forget: REMAP says what value it's going to create and
how, then goes and delivers it. The client doesn't manage the loop — they receive the results of
it.
