🧭 Founder Direction · V1 · September 2026
This page defines what "good" means for marketing — the quality of lead to aim for and what to
optimise toward. Current direction; for the operational metrics and playbook, see the linked SOPs.
Good marketing isn't measured by lead volume — it's measured by lead quality: fewer, better-
fit clients with a real multi-month pathway, budget, and someone who can say yes.
A qualified lead isn't just "interested." Three things have to be true:
💡 The shorthand: a lead is qualified when there's a real runway of work, the money to fund it,
and the authority to commit. Miss any one, and it's not yet qualified.
AEO/GEO — Answer Engine Optimisation / Generative Engine Optimisation — is framed as "the new
SEO."
The logic: businesses have already invested heavily in search engine optimisation to be found
on Google. Being found and cited by AI-driven answer engines is the next version of that same
discoverability game. As more people ask AI assistants instead of searching, being the business the
AI names becomes the new version of ranking first.
For REMAP it works as another value-add layer and conversation-opener alongside the Intelligence
Tool:
💡 "Not just automation — we'll also help you get found and ranked in the AI era."
Important boundary: this does not reposition REMAP as an SEO agency. AEO/GEO is an added
layer to the offering and a way into the conversation, not a new core business.
This is the clearest instruction for how to judge marketing right now: quality over volume,
explicitly.
The preference is stark:
One to two well-fit new clients a month for the next three to six months — not four to
five, where two or three are poor fits who churn out.
Because a bad-fit client isn't a neutral miss — it's actively expensive:
| A poor-fit client costs... | How |
|---|---|
| Revenue's time | Chasing and onboarding someone who won't stay |
| Brand positioning | A churned client damages reputation |
| Delivery's focus | Pulled in to firefight a mismatch |
| Founder time | Drags leadership back into engagements it's trying to step out of |
So marketing success isn't "how many leads" — it's how many of the right leads. Fewer, better.
